Your fire and life safety and emergency preparedness consultant is a co-owner of the company, a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) since 1996, and is Certified in Homeland Security, Level IV. He has been involved with fire and life safety and emergency preparedness for more than 35 years, including all phases of emergency management planning, development, and training, as well as public and fire service education and training, fire service planning and operations, code enforcement, fire investigations, and fire protection systems in public, private, business, university, and healthcare settings. Your public health education and healthcare administration and business consultant is a co-owner of the company and a (former) Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), with a Masters Degree in Public Health and over 35 years of experience. She has advanced skills in health education and promotion, healthcare administration, federally qualified community health center start-up and operation, budget development, grant writing, employee management / supervision, and strategic planning. More information on your fire and life safety consultant and host: David Chaplin is the founder and owner of Integrated Fire & Life Safety Solutions, LLC, since 2004. He has worked in fire and life safety and emergency preparedness for more than 35 years in residential, business, commercial, healthcare, university, and industrial settings. David began his career in residential construction and as a Sprinklerfitter/Foreman installing automatic fire protection systems in commercial and residential occupancies. He has also served in the professional fire service in many different positions, including: firefighter/EMT, engineer/ladder operator, Training Officer, Safety Officer, Fire Marshal, Emergency Services Coordinator, Chief's Assistant, and Fire Division Chief. Additionally, Chaplin was the first Fire Protection Specialist and the first University Fire Inspector at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (VA Tech). After September 11, 2001, he became increasingly more involved in emergency preparedness and homeland security. In 2003, he began developing customized emergency preparedness plans, hazardous materials decontamination teams, security, interoperable communications, and surge capacity for hospitals and health care facilities through regional cooperation, customized training, and implementation of the HRSA--National Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program (now ASPR - HPP). Chaplin served as the emergency preparedness consultant and trainer to the Near Southwest Preparedness Alliance (NSPA), based in Western VA, and to the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA), which serves the entire Commonwealth. He is also a founding/life member and former President and Vice-President of the Virginia Fire & Life Safety Coalition, a former Chairman of the Roanoke Valley Emergency Planning Committee, and former Co-Chair of the New River Valley--Regional Emergency Planning Coalition. Chaplin has earned state certifications in SC, GA, and VA for advanced structural firefighting, hazardous materials, EMT, Instructor III, Code Official, Fire Investigator, Fire Inspector, and Fire Marshal. Chaplin is also a licensed fire protection specialty contractor in Virginia.
Eileen Lepro is a co-owner of Integrated Fire & Life Safety Solutions. She has worked in public health and non-profit healthcare businesses for more than 35 years in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. She has earned an A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene from Williamsport Area Community College (PA), a B.S. in Community Health Education from Pennsylvania State University, and a M.P.H. in Health Promotion and Education from University of South Carolina. Eileen began her career as a District Director of Health Education for the SC Department of Health & Environmental Control. In Virginia since 1993, she was the first Executive Director of the Southwest Virginia Area Health Education Center in Marion, and she was the first Executive Director of Kuumba Community Health & Wellness Center (an FQHC; now "New Horizons Healthcare"), a position she has held since Y2000. Eileen has taken a "bare-bones" staff in 3600 sq. ft. clinic in Y2000, to a new 32,000 sq. ft. clinic with over 100 employees. She has also applied for and received more than $40-million dollars in grants and aid since 1993; an excellent grant-writer !
